Revive a rural village-Suginokomura
Description: There used to be a primary school over 100 years until 40 years ago in the mountains. The local welfare council named the place "Suginoko Village" , then the project was taken over by the organization called Abukawa Work & Study Camp to revive the area as the center for the poeple from different background to interact. SCI-Japan has collaborated having East Asia Camps since 2014 and later regular camps.
Type of Work: Renovate and clean the school building and local vacant houses. Cut, collect and store grass to feed goats to get milk.Farming. Arrange books in stock at school.
Study Theme: Learn the history and problems of the area.
Accommodation: Classrooms at school or a local house. Blankets and matresses are provided. Washing machine and bath available.
