Work with disabled people in Rennes - 1
Description: This workcamp will take place on the center of APF (Association of the Paralyzed of France) Guillaume d'Achon. Every year we offer workshops for mentally and physically disabled adults. You will meet international volunteers and have a chance to meet the local community, the residents and the permanent staff working there.
Type of Work: The volunteers will work according to the plan laid out by the animators team of the home. Volunteers should be aware that they will be living with disabled people on a daily basis. This involves day outings (visits, concerts, beach, activities) supervised by the home team. Volunteers will as well participate in games, discussions and theme evenings with the residents. We are particularly interested in volunteers who do visual arts (mosaic, painting) or theater. And volunteers will be asked to held a presentation of their country.
Study Theme: The life as a disabled person in France, visibility, access, and recognition of the society.
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in two shared studios inside the medical home with bathrooms and showers provided.
Requirements: You have to speak French in order to communicate with the residents. Please attach a motivation letter in French.
Approximate Location: The camp will take place in the city of Rennes.
