Peace work camp and 60 years of celebration of SCI BD
Description: The Peace Center at Khalia village of Rajoir Upazila under Madaripur District is the most hosted venue of SCI BD’s work camp since 1973. In remembrance the support of the Peace center and marking the 60 years of SCI BD an international work camp is going to organize at Peace Center. The Peace Center commonly known as Shanti Kendra was established by GUP. The SCI volunteers from home and abroad helped in developing the infrastructure of the center through regular work camps. With its beautiful garden, fish ponds, library, children school and training venues, the center attracts number of peace activists from home and abroad. There will be two days long special event to marking the 60 years of SCI Bangladesh.
Type de travail: Volunteers will plant Environment friendly trees, earth filling and leveling ground at Peace Center and fencing the campus boundary and make the entrance to the building. There will be two days long special event to marking the 60 years of SCI Bangladesh. The last two days of the camp, campier will participate in the celebration events. Celebration event Day 1: Experience share gathering between senior and new members and friendly football match Celebration event Day 2: Rally, Bangladeshi traditional athletic games and fireworks in the evening
Thèmes de reflexion / d'études : Discussions on SCI at Global and local, climate change and environment. Volunteers will have the chance to learn from one another's culture.
Hébergement Volunteers will stay at dormitory of the Peace Center. They will share common bathroom and toilet. Volunteers will be given simple vegetarian/Non-vegetarian food, to cook and manage themselves.
Langue English should be spoken among participants. Local language is Bengali
Conditions d'admission Working shoes, Gloves, Working dress, Sleeping bag, Insect repellent, toiletries and personal medication (if require).
