Event set up and sharing experiences – Zabok 2018
Description: The project will bring together young local and foreign volunteers in activities in local community. The project is firstly intended for youth, but also very important for the community life. Volunteers will participate:
- at the 13th Fair of associations KZŽ – the goal is to promote the work of NGOs on the area of Krapina-Zagorje County and work on future cooperation.
- in the implementation of musical festival in Zabok – the goal is to encourage performers who play alternative (copyright) music and who come from Croatia so they can show their music.
- on the manifestation “Hrvatska volontira” (Croatia Volunteering) - the goal is to encourage as many people as possible to participate in different socially beneficial activities and thereby promote the value of volunteering.
Type of Work: Work and activities that volunteers will be doing are: assisting and providing support in the organization and implementation of the 13th Fair of associations, musical festival and participation in voluntary actions that will be implemented within the manifestation “Hrvatska volontira” (Croatia Volunteering), photographing and recording events, communication with participants, share the refreshment, preparation and arrangement of space, environment and surfaces, division of signatures, sticking posters, work on event promotion, setting up the stands. The materials for implementation of activities will be provided (paints, varnishes, brushes, masks, decorative material and other materials). Volunteers will work 6 hours per day and they will have 2 free days.
Study Theme: For the volunteers a presentation will be organized about the Network of associations Zagor, about the partnerships, about the local and regional community with a focus on the 13th Fair of associations, musical festival and manifestation “Croatia Volunteering”. In addition, a presentation about the Volunteer Center Zagreb and SCI will be organized. The study part will be on the first day of the camp so that volunteers can get familiar with the environment. Also, a Good practices study will be conducted, where both local and foreign volunteers will exchange experiences together.
Accommodation: The accommodation will be in a house in Zabok, 10 minutes from the office and 5 minutes from the center of the town. It will contain two bedrooms (possibility for the separate rooms for men and women), kitchen and bathroom. The accommodation will be for 5 persons for 14 days and 13 nights. Volunteers will be provided with a daily hot meal in the catering facility and they will be secured with food supplies from the local stores in order to prepare the remaining 2 meals themselves.
Language: Working language on the workcamp is English
Requirements: Volunteers will have to write a motivation letter with a brief explanation why they would like to participate + their previous experience.
Approximate Location: The location of the workcamp will be in Zabok and the activities will be held in the area of Krapina-Zagorje County. Transport to the activities will be secured. The town of Zabok is located on the southwestern edge of the Krapina-Zagorje County and is only 30 km away from the city of Zagreb (capital of Croatia!), with good connections (highway, local road, train, bus). The town of Zabok is a small town with an area of 34.41 km2 where 9.365 inhabitants live. The city has an important strategic and geopolitical position. In the social activities, it is already a prominent educational center.
