Community Project at Pine Ridge Native American Reservation

Leírás: The Pine Ridge Reservation is one of the most impoverished areas of the United States. Two Native American non-profit organizations, Tiyospaye Winyan Maka and The Oglala Lakota Cultural & Economic Revitalization Initiative, have combined to create a project to bring some economic livelihood to the area. They are building a Center to realize the cultural knowledge of the Native American people in agriculture. The job of the workcamp will be to help construct the infrastructure of the Center. This may involve helping develop the water supply for the Center as well as ordinary construction work.
Munka típusa Construction: The work includes shoveling dirt, screwing tires together, packing the dirt, prepping tires, jobs will be cutting wood, helping with designs/ideas, and carrying tools. Possible permaculture gardening.
Szállás: Tents or rooms if available.
Elvárások: Some experience in plumbing and/or electrical work would be good but is not vital. Any experience in water supply work would be especially welcome. Cannot be afraid of dogs or horses.
