Description: The camp is located in the city of the famous All-Union Komsomol construction site - Bratsk, Irkutsk Region. International volunteers together with local volunteers will be engaged in the construction of an international youth camp on Bournina Island. The camp is supprted by the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Higher Education "Bratsk State University".
Type of Work: Volunteers will work on the improvement of the area of scientific research on forestry (cleaning branches, cutting down shabby trunks, planting seedlings, simple repair of laboratory facilities). Volunteers will also take part in the daily life of the camp (various cultural, sports and linguistic, gaming activities).
Study Theme: The idea of the event is as following: international exchange; educational activities; interest in other cultures; tolerance to different nationalities, religions, races; Learning foreign languages; training young people to be leaders, to have an active life position. Irkutsk is a multinational region within the Russian Federation. Volunteers will have the opportunity to visit the unique architecture and ethnographic museum “Angarsk village”, visit the world-famous Bratsk hydroelectric station, visit the world heritage - Lake Baikal.
Accommodation: Meals are provided in the summer kitchen of the camp, outdoors, it is prepared by volunteers. Accommodation On the island there is a two-story log house. Rooms of three types: male, female, mixed. Sleeping bags are not needed. Please bring your own towels. Due to the fact that there is no Wi-Fi, the Internet is not available. In the city you can purchase a SIM card from a Russian telephone
Language: The working language is English, Russian will be very useful for communication with the locals. You will also have the opportunity to teach other volunteers your own language. What to have with you

Approximate Location: The camp is located in Russia, in the Irkutsk region on the beautiful island of Bornin, located on the Angara River - the only river flowing out of Lake Baikal. The meeting point is at the station “Padunskie porogi” and at the airport Bratsk. Every international volunteer will be met by local volunteers. They will move to the camp together.
Notes: In free time, various activities will be held: fishing, swimming in the Angara, sailing yachts, visiting night clubs, excursions to ethnographic museums and important objects of the city, taiga walks, picking up mushrooms and berries. On some of the days, a rock concert by local cover bands, artistes' artists, a concert of children's musical ensembles and theater groups will be held on the island. If the volunteer is good at singing or dancing , or has any special talents, he/she is welcomed to take part in the concert. A free day is provided once a week when the volunteers can go to the city, see the sights or stay in the camp and relax in nature.
