Work Camp with river erosion affected community
Description: As C4P movement, SCI would like to initiate this project to support and develop capacity of the river erosion affected community in order to make them capable to adopt with the climate change scenario, especially river erosion. Trees reverse the impacts of land degradation. Trees can play an important role to mitigate climate change. There is huge potential for tree planting. Trees and forests benefits communities in many ways such as: Adapting to climate change impacts, maintaining natural resources and promoting sustainable development. Through this project the targeted community will have developed capacity to coe with natural disaster.
Type of Work: Environment friendly tree plantation, earth work
Study Theme: Discussion on Climate change and our role to make it friendly, visit local community to build social awareness.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay at private house in Char (Island) bank of the Padma river. They will share common bathroom and toilet. Volunteers will be given simple vegetarian/Non-vegetarian food, to cook and manage them selves. Overseas volunteer will be hosted by SCI BD before and after the camp.
Language: English should be spoken among participants. Local language is Bengali
