Tara Kadampa Meditation Centre
Description: You will help prepare for a national Dharma celebration (a Buddhist Festival) at a Buddhist meditation centre in the heart of England, Derbyshire. We are a residential community; volunteers will be working alongside our own volunteers and residents.
Tara KMC can only benefit others with the kindness and support of volunteers. You are welcome to come and spend time volunteering. Even a small amount of time can make an enormous difference and be lots of fun! It is also a great way to make new, like minded friends in a spiritual community. Everyone is welcome.
Type of Work: You will help prepare for a national Dharma celebration (a Buddhist Festival). We are expecting in the region of 500 attendees for the festival. We will need help setting up chairs inside the marquees, dormitories and accommodation, cooking and cleaning.
You will have the opportunity to participate in meditation classes and a talk about Buddhism and meditation. You will have free time in the evenings and on the Saturday.
We are looking for people who are respectful and interested in Buddhist life. We have a no alcohol policy here on site and food is vegetarian/vegan.
Accommodation: Food and accommodation are provided. Shared dormitory facilities. Breakfast is self-catering. We cook hot meals for lunch and supper. All food is vegetarian or vegan. We cannot cater for gluten free.
We have showers and coin operated washing machine dryers. We have wifi.
