Volunteers For Inclusion, Sombor
Description: IDC (Initiative for Development & Cooperation) is a group of enthusiasts led by the principles of solidarity, active inclusion, equal rights, decent jobs and satisfied people. These principles are integrated in all our programs and activities which we continually keep on innovating. Among the many activities we do mostly we work with vulnerable social groups who live below the poverty line, and with them we are trying to fight for a greater social inclusion. During workcamp volunteers will go directly on the field and assist the socially vulnerable households depending on their respective needs. The workcamp volunteers will be raising awareness, promoting international solidarity, peace, social inclusion, justice but also organizing quality time for young people.
Type of Work: The camp raises the questions, connects and turns the attention to the two very important topics and matters in the world at the moment: social vulnerability and poverty through the direct assistance to the priority families which are socially vulnerable and topic of the refugees from the countries affected by the wars in the Middle East by raising the awareness both at a smaller scale – among the actual volunteers, but more importantly at a bigger scale – raising the awareness of the local community in terms of the refugee crisis. We will be doing renovation of parts of the houses, yard renovation, repairing furniture belonging to the families, but also repairing and renovating second-hand furniture, all for the future use of socially vulnerable households.
Study Theme: Several educational and creative workshops will be organised.
