Street Arts Festival "Théâtres Nomades" in Brussels
Description: The Festival “Théâtres Nomades” is a street arts festival. It takes place every summer for four days, at the end of August in a large green space in Brussels. As a free event, this festival has always aimed to mix audiences, which is why, from the general organization to the programming choices, including communication, everything is designed to attract public from different cultures and social backgrounds.
Type of Work: The volunteers will help with various logistical aspects of the festival: preparing meals for the entire festival team, setting up and taking down infrastructures, loading and unloading of equipment, setting up the sets, installation of the associative village, participation in the implementation of waste management and dry toilets, etc. Volunteers are required to work with the entire festival team (technicians, entertainers, organizers, cooks, etc.). The volunteers will be integrated into the various working teams. Those who can speak some French will be responsible of the information stand and the sales pitch since they will also interact with the public/audience. The volunteers will work 6 hours a day and will have 2 free days during the project.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in caravans on the festival site and will have access to sanitary facilities. They will need to bring a sleeping bag and a mattress. The volunteers will take the meals prepared by the festival kitchen team, of which the volunteers will also be part, together with the festival working teams. Those meals will consist of sandwiches at noon and hot meals in the evening. During free days, the Festival organization will provide volunteers with train tickets to visit other places in Belgium.
Language: The project language is English. French is an asset to be able to interact with the festival public and the locals.
Requirements: For all volunteers motivated by joining this project not only for its festive aspect but also for the values it defends. Being able to get involved in the work, independently and despite the fatigue linked to the festive aspect. Volunteers will have to show sense of initiative and be open in meeting others. The work will be physical and heavy at certain times (assembling and dismantling).

Notes: Additional fee : Many SCI workcamps will have an additional fee of €50.00.
