Description: This is the very first workcamp organized by a local group "Aruse Tsukushi Kai".Aruse elementary school, located in West Iya region in Miyoshi city used to have more than 100 students, however, as time went on more and more youth and children left the village until finally they had to close the school. People in the village said "We have to do something!" "Let's rebirth the school!" then they started the movement. Volunteers will stay at Aruse elementary school which was reborn in 2016 with the precious memories of the local people. The volunteers are expected to preserve the environment of the village and reconstruct the old paths that connect Tokushima and Kochi prefecture.
Type of Work: Reconstruct the paths in the mountain with the local people in order to preserve the environment of the region. The volunteers will be pulling weeds along the paths, creating signs on the paths and helping farmers in the village with pulling weeds and picking vegetables.
Study Theme: Reconstruction of a village
Accommodation: Aruse elementary school -inn. Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns and also served sometimes. Sleeping bag is necessary.
Language: English, Japanese is also welcomed!
Requirements: Positive attitude, and energy!
