Youth Center Renovation
Description: Nor Aznaberd is a border village in Vayots dzor, Armenia. It has 147 inhabitants. The majority of the population is refugees. Lack of workplaces, poor condition of roads and public transportation, difficulties of selling agricultural products make people move to big cities or worse immigrate. The village does not even have a school or a kindergarten. Around a year ago initiative group “Masoor (rosehip) for big change” was created. The aim is to harvest rosehip from the village, wrap and sell them then create a youth center that will compensate for the absence of school and kindergarten. During the workcamp we will renovate the room which going to become a youth center and make some DIY chairs, garbage, and land art.
Type of Work: Reconstruction, renovation, landscaping, gardening.
Study Theme: During the work camp there will be held some trainings in the field of handmade and craft works, garbage and recycling art.
Accommodation: Village-based families will host volunteer groups during the work camp. International and national volunteers will create mixed groups for making the communication with families much easier. Food will be provided at the houses. We suppose volunteers would like to help families to prepare, cook the meals, set up the tables.
