First Aids gestures « Saving lives Together! »
Description: In Togo, a large number of people are still unaware of the basic actions needed to rescue people who have suffered a road accident or an incident affecting the physical body. Since the situation is becoming more and more alarming these last moments, ASTOVOT sets up for two years a project of training and awareness on the "gestures that save". Thus the project consists in raising awareness and training in particular taxi-motorcycle drivers and in general all road users on the actions that save so that they can have basic notions in the field of first aid in case of traffic accidents (trauma, cardiac arrest, bleedin)g. This project will not only allow beneficiaries to have adequate reactions to first aid but also the necessary provisions to prevent, limit or eliminate imminent danger...
Type of Work: At each edition, the project is supported by a team of the National Federation of Civil Protection of Togo (FNPC). This training will focus on learning the first steps of relief. Volunteers trained in turn will train Motorcycle Taxi drivers and other road users on different first aid modules. They will set up a very detailed program to dispense the actions of the first aid in different places of the municipality with the authorization of the town hall.
The main lines of the training will be: "Securing the accident site and the people involved - Assessing the condition of the victim- Requesting help- Dispense first aid.
The basic actions that will be taught are: Choking - Bleeding - Unconsciousness - Cardiac arrest (rescue and defibrillation) - Cardiac malaise.
