Type of Work: Volunteers will be clearing the invasive vegetation and cleaning the riverside areas within the 'Kovilj-Petrovaradin Wetlands). Just 5 years ago, the area was inaccessible for local population and tourists and there were no activities implemented in the area. Nowadays the situation is better (certain parts are accessible, some wooden infrastructure has been set up, ecotourism programmes are being implemented), but there is still a lot of work ahead of us, thanks to previous work camps. Ultimately, the aim of the camp is to contribute to raising awareness on the importance of conservation of special nature reserves through implementing quality ecotourism programmes.
Study Theme: The volunteers will get the chance to know more about the ‘Kovilj-Petrovaradin Wetlands’ through workshops about flora and fauna, bird watching trips and other specially designed activities. Additionally, there will be possibility to know more about the concept of volunteering. During the leisure time we can offer guided tours around the town and Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia or Fruska Gora mountain, depending how we make an agreement with volunteers.
