Sports, Music and Arts for Community Action
Description: This project expected to bring volunteers with Sustainable development ideas and initiative messages to the society through the universe languages and actions of Sports, Music & Arts. This project aims to develop and create meaningful events and performing arts programs embodying development through culture, the natural outcome of creative people collaborating to achieve sustainable development in the world. Through Sports, Music & Arts the project is expecting to increase awareness on possible solutions to the local pressing development issues.
Type of Work: Volunteers will be engaged in Sports, Arts and Music Workshops with locals and other volunteers to have a common definition and understanding of what Sports, Arts and Music is, in bringing development changes. Volunteers are expected to bring information from their own community to share in the workshops. International and local volunteers will join to compose songs, drawings that will be used during the community development exhibition and awareness raising. We will work with local young people to support them to building their capacity through English language classes, and other initiatives that will make them self-reliant taking advantage of tourism industry in their community. Volunteers will join on the projects project which will include painting/ renovation of school class rooms.
Accommodation: Meals: Three meals will be provide each day at the accommodation including vegetarians. We will have kitchen volunteer responsible in meals preparations, however volunteers shall also be expected to help in meals preparation and dish washing. Accommodation: At the communal house in the community. Rooms will be shared between 3-4 people, no bed but mattress on the floor (Comfortable enough). Water and electricity will be available. No washing machine available.

Requirements: Qualities: Potential volunteer in this project shall the one who is interested in Sport, Arts and Music, You need to be a person who want to work outdoor, interest to work with children and teens, flexible, outgoing and adaptable.Motivation letter should respond for example to the question: why would you like to participate in this project?
Approximate Location: Paje is a village and community on the Southeast cost of the Unguja Island between Villages of Bwejuu and Jambiani.It is accessible via Public and private transportation from Zanzibar stone town and which makes it convenient for most social service facilities during the project including telecommunication, banking, health, food etc.
Notes: Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays is always free for volunteers to take advantage of the richness in natural, cultural and tourist attraction of Zanzibar to explore.
Volunteers are expected to join activities for about 5-7 hours a day. Sometimes is very flexible and it can be less or more.
