Description: The Opeju Water Project started in 2017 when some Irish Delegates came to provide Pipe Borne Water for the whole community and its neighbourhood. The Bore hole was provided to enrich the community and make life better for them and the children. The Water Treatment Installation to support past efforts in the rural community need to be reviewed and re-touch to check on water disease and make the community life much better. There has not been any problem on the project and we carry out the project to avoid any of such health problem.
Type of Work: Providing water treatment kits, Channel the waste water to the drainage port, Mobilize and raise community awareness on the importance of personal hygiene and run campaign on anti-water disease, Stimulating the formation of various youth clubs connected to community development.
Study Theme: HEALTH & COMMUNITY WELFARE
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay together in Accommodation provided by the Community or Guest Houses. Cooking will be done in turns within the host project. Volunteer can also make a choice of apartment suitable for their project
Language: Fair knowledge of English but not compulsory
Requirements: Working clothes, tents, mosquito nets, charts / books, tools and gloves, mosquito repellent lotion, sleeping bag. Games like chess, playing cards and musical instruments are welcomed but optional.
