Description: The northern shore of Lake Kuremaa, where you find a 250-metre stretch of golden sand, is the only organized public beach in Jogeva County manned by lifeguards. Kuremaa Beach House is a project run by the NGO Oieke, which takes care of the area, promotes sustainable life-style, develops nature tourism activities, offers various leisure activities to public and organizes summer camps for youngsters. Volunteers are invited to help this NGO and locals to take care of the beach house and its surroundings and prepare it for the summer season. Type of Work: Wide range of activities will be offer to volunteers i mostly in the field of maintenance and development of the visitor site and the territory of the beach and surrounding. It involves: tidying up the area, cutting bushes and straws, weeding; works with soil and stones, landscaping, building a fire place, easier construction work like building benches; painting, preparing fire woods, etc. There may be also some works in horse stables and pastures. The working time is 6-7 full hours a day, which may vary depending on the daily leisure activities and actual weather conditions. Most of these activities will take place outdoors, but weather conditions will be taken into account.
Accommodation: The accommodation will be in Kuremaa guest house in 2-4 bedded rooms. Bed linen, pillows and towels are provided, so sleeping bag is NOT needed. Toilets and showers are available. It is planned to visit Estonian Sauna some days. Food will be cooked and served in the local cafe nearby. Some days will be spent in a local youth centre with a possibility to cook own food, which can be shared then with local youngsters.
Requirements: Special requirementsYou have to be open-minded, creative and ready to adapt to simple conditions of the common life in the countryside of Estonia. Volunteers have to be motivated to work outdoors doing physical work under changing weather conditions. You should take clothes for hot summer days and some colder rainy periods as well as working clothes which may get dirty. English is the camp language.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. If you cannot make it please contact your sending organization for solution.

Estonian second largest city Tartu lies 48 km away. Camp venue itself is 13 km away from Jogeva. On the beach there is a basketball court, volleyball court, barbecue area, camping and recreation area.
