Grefa: animal recovery, and research
Description: GREFA is a non-profit, non-government organization, created in 1981 as an association for the study and conservation of nature. GREFA’s members are professional and amateur naturalists, biologists and veterinarians, as well as an increasing number of volunteers.
The work of GREFA is developed around different activities that complement each other: animal recovery, and research; preservation of species, community education and awareness raising campaigns. The Wild Fauna Recovery Centre is the main focus of the organization. Since its beginnings, it has given veterinary assistance to more than 10,000 wild animals. The main objective of the Wild Fauna Recovery Centre is to provide the necessary care to all animals admitted, in order to later release them back into nature.
