Seeds of Wisdom
Description: The project presents itself as a community of diverse practices capable of creating a proactive synergy between Azes Valboenses and Amakura, together with informal partnerships. General objectives Promote the cultural valorisation of local ecosystems; Allow participants to develop citizenship skills while actively contributing to the rehabilitation of important elements of cultural and environmental heritage; Promote healthier and more sustainable lifestyles during the CTI and also in their communities; Improve the intercultural and social skills of participants, reinforcing the importance of cooperation and citizenship in building a fairer and more caring world.
Type of Work: 1) Camping Renovation The campsite already exists but lacks tables and benches as well as support equipment, so participants will build it, reusing materials and using sustainable construction techniques. 2) Construction of proposal for dry toilet A support toilet is missing for the path, which will be designed and presented by Amakura Association for the construction and maintenance of the existing ones. 3) Construction of walls with sustainable technique Participants will have the opportunity to understand the steps for building walls, windows and doors by reusing materials and using sustainable construction techniques.
Study Theme: Workshop on Natural Preventive Medicine After collecting some foods and herbs on the walks, these will be used to construct essentially preventative medicine syrups and anointments without the use of chemicals. Ecological Hygiene Products Workshop Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to make personal hygiene and cleaning products with natural and sustainable products that do not pollute, thus being invited to make and use these products in their daily lives decreasing the impact of their consumption and fighting climate change.
Accommodation: Volunteers will be accommodated in the village campsite and meals will be prepared by everyone, with the support of the kitchen of the Mother House in the heart of the village. Breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner will be served, always vegetarian and with organic products from the village. The venue has only 4G internet and must be the individual of each participant. There is no laundry service.
Requirements: The camp is not accessible for people with reduced mobility and the village is far from the town, so have with you any and all medication you may need to take.
Approximate Location: The project will take place in Cabrum, an Ecovillage in the municipality of Viseu, about 120km from Porto. In North of Portugal
