ESC Peace Camp Waldhüttl
Description: Waldhüttl is located in a picturesque, hilly part of the Alpine city of Innsbruck in Tyrol and is run by the association "Vinzenzgemeinschaft". It was a refuge for resistance fighters during World War 2 and today it is the site of an intercultural housing and gardening project. It is home to minorities and marginalized groups such as Roma, asylum seekers, migrant workers, pilgrims and local volunteers who keep the project running. The property is a meeting place for people from different backgrounds and it offers the opportunity to learn from each other in terms of intercultural understanding and alternative ways of living that are close to the environment and nature. In this two week camp, funded by the EU, volunteers will support the community.
Type of Work: In the first week volunteers will support the construction of a willow hut and a fence (ecological and different) and do some reparation works in and around the houses in the Waldhüttl.
