Description: The main hosting organisation for this Work Camp is the Youth Council of Lolland municipality. The Council will be hosting the Work Camp together with The Golden Banana (organizing events for young people) and Lolland Music School. During the Work Camp, three events will take place, and you will get a chance to be a part of it all. The first event is helping out at a Glamping site with beautiful nature. The second event is the Concert Week, which is arranged by the Music School of Lolland. They will arrange concerts with bands in different locations across the island. The third event is the party at the end of the concert week. Type of Work: The concert week and the majority of the activities will take place in Maribo, but during the stay, you will visit different parts of Lolland. Before the Concert week starts, we will head out of Maribo to get to know each other and to Work Camp activities at a Glamping site. We will go there by car for approximately 20 minutes. Here activity examples are: Building outdoor furniture, making videos, setting up tents, helping with practical tasks, making breakfast and more. The time here will help us get to know each other before we arrive at the concert week, where you will be in pairsFor the concert week, you will be helping with logistics and promotion. You will attend the concerts and help with taking pictures, distributing t-shirts, carrying instruments, and driving a bus (if you have an EU driver s license). If you want, you can also be part of one of the choirs or bands during the concert week. Youth Week will host different events on Lolland during the week. There will be concerts, parties, game nights, and others arranged by youth people, and you will assist with logistics, engagement of other youth, and promotion. At the festival, you will be assisting with various tasks including setting up the festival, helping on the stage, promoting the festival in the streets, carrying instruments, etc. on the festival day and the day before. Volunteers meet at 8 AM on May 7th. There will be work during the day, but also time to enjoy the concerts and the atmosphere.Preliminary Schedule (can still change): May 4th: Arrival in Maribo, visit the Music school, and meet the locals involved in the three activities. May 5th: Working and social activities at the Glamping site. May 6th: Working and social activities at the Glamping site. May 7th: Return to Maribo, check-in at the Hostel and activities with local youth elaborate introduction to the activities during the weekMay 8th-12th: Assisting the Lolland Music School for the concert weekFriday, May 12th: Participation in After Party. Saturday, May 13th: Packing and farewell.Note that during the concert week, you will be divided into pairs that will help out with different activities during the week as they take place simultaneously and in different geographical locations. Thus your schedules may be different and you can have different days off... Optional social activities with other young people during some of the days. Possible Social Activity to visit DEllefjelde Musse Marked, which is a huge flea market and a long tradition on the island. To do SUPboard or fishing in the Glamping site or visit the Sauna. No specific skills are needed, but if you are interested in music and hanging out with other young people, you will definitely enjoy it. If you like construction, like doing social media or are great video editors, we would love to know.
Accommodation: Accommodation: The volunteers will be hosted at two different places. First at Naturlig PE KorsgErden - a Glamping site 15 kilometers from Maribo with beautiful lakes and outdoor activities (check https://naturligpaakorsgaarden.dk). Then for the rest of the work camp the volunteers will be hosted at a hostel located in Maribo, the town where the majority of the activities will take place. If you do not wish to share rooms with the rest of the Work Camp volunteers of different genders, then it is a possibility to be hosted privately. If you are going with someone you know, and you are okay to share a double bed please let us know. The hostel is located within walking distance of the Music School from where you will Food:At the hostel, there is a common room with kitchen facilities, where you can prepare your meals or just relax. The host will purchase your groceries. At the glamping site, there is the option to make food on fire with all the equipment youll need. On some days lunch and dinner may also be provided.Bathroom Facilities:There will be bathroom and shower facilities at the hostel. You will have to bring linen and bed covers, and the hostel will provide the rest.It will be possible to wash your clothes at the hostel for a small charge. You can also buy the linen and bed covers if you dont want to bring them.

Requirements: To participate in this Work Camp, we require you to provide:- A motivational letter. You must include any skills you would like to contribute with. We do our very best to match you with activities that you like and the work camp is very diverse. In regard to COVID-19, it is our ambition to complete our Work Camps this summer, but it is essential for us that our volunteers feel safe during the time they spend at our camps. This is why we constantly keep ourselves updated on the situation and we follow the Danish government s instructions. Furthermore, we are ready to answer any questions that you might have, and we will keep all our volunteers updated right up until the start of the Work Camp.Your Work Camp host will have guidelines on how to handle COVID-19 during your stay, including how to handle isolation and enforcement of government guidelines. For security reasons, we can unfortunately not have volunteers with hearing or sight disabilities. For other physical disabilities, it depends on whether the volunteer is okay with different schedules and changes. English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though being from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best We will advise you to bring warm clothes that are fit for outdoor work and might get dirty. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather, so it is a good idea to bring rain clothes too.
Approximate Location: Maribo is a small town in the center of Lolland, known for its lakes, where you can go for walks or go kayaking. Currently, Lolland hosts the construction site of the Femern Belt Tunnel, which is a huge project worth visiting. It is also worth visiting the smaller islands on the coast of Lolland or some of the beautiful nature parks or historic towns. Your Work Camp coordinators or contact person will help you and the group with organizing activities in your spare time. It is free to enjoy the beautiful nature of Lolland, but some activities might require an extra charge. The host will not cover additional charges.
