The iMAGInada - Festival for freedom of expression
Description: The iMAGInada is a self-sustaining festival promoted by a cultural association formed by young people with a concern: to offer an alternative to the current economic, social and cultural model through the creation of spaces for exchange, empowerment, participation, dynamic and self-sustainability in the framework of the annual festivities of the city. Type of Work: Volunteers will help in tasks related to preparations and logistics for the festival: assembling and dismantling of the spaces and infrastructure, setting of space, activities for the children, preparing the social activities (such as forums, world dinners, etc), supporting the kitchen and the bar of the festival and other tasks helping the organization.
Study Theme: In our own iMAGInada we have a Forum Space where we talk about different current conflicts, such as social transformation, inequalities, feminism, social and solidarity economy, education, food, health, ... and we think it would be very interesting to participate in these spaces (usually the talks are in Catalan or Spanish). In general, the project pursues the defence of freedom of expression and alternative methodologies, of social and community transformation.
Accommodation: The accommodation will be in a local school with one community room to sleep, one room designated for cooking and bathrooms with showers. Regarding meals, they will be prepared together in the kitchen and during the days of the festival they will be in the space of the project with the local volunteers. The food will be bought and provided. And the rest of the days they will have money and will be managed by the group according to needs.
Language: If necessary, the coordinator speaks also German, French, Catalan and Spanish

Notes: IMPORTANT Additional Fee: In 2023 many SCI workcamps will have an additional fee of €50.00.
If you apply through an SCI branch the fee will be included in the fee you pay to your sending branch. If you apply through a partner organisation you will have to pay the fee on arrival at the project; direct to the hosting branch or through different payment platforms. When accepted on the project the host branch will give you more details of the various payment options.
