Getting Clayful
Description: Get to know and experience the creative art of working with clay and other natural materials while integrated in a living community that practices regenerative lifestyles and techniques - Together we can reshape the way we think and care for our resources by engaging in regenerative design and practices. We aim to transform materials and learning spaces by having fun, improving our personal wellbeing, help counteract climate change, and bring back more balance into our ecosystems.
Type of Work: Creating and Maintaining Educational Spaces and Materials: We will care and improve the associations pedagogical spaces ; create and improve educational activity materials and prepare resources for ongoing education purposes. Awareness raising event: We will cocreate, organize and present a public event (open day) that joins together the local community for a day of cultural, traditional and creative exchange.
Study Theme: Environmental awareness: We will join in collaborative exploration on Social and Environmental key concepts, where main focus will be how to use natural resources and how to creatively close our cycles. Creative skills: We will present basic skills of how to prepare and work with clay. Building bio-construction structures and upcycling with diverse materials. Collaborative design and Project co-creation: We will present and use a collaborative design method and tools, apply it to create our camp learning community and an awareness raising event. Social dynamics and community.
Accommodation: Our venue’s facilities include prepared & shaded camping areas, hot showers, indoor bathrooms and dining hall, as well as WiFi, charging stations, small library, tools and didactic materials. Accommodation is made in individual tents; please bring your own if you can, if you can’t the project will provide one. The project will provide 5 meals per day (breakfast; Lunch; snack; dinner; supper). We serve a mediterranean diet, mainly vegetarian based as much as possible on the following ethical sequence: seasonal, local and organic.
Requirements: Please bring with you: Practical working clothes and warm jumper for evenings; Outdoor shoes and shower flip flops; sun cream; insect repellant; torch; sleeping bag and small blanket; personal tent (is preferred); sun hat; small backpack and personal water bottle and drinking cup; beach and shower towel; personal hygiene products; swimming gear; musical instruments.
