Recovery of old roads and dry stone building in an unusual valley in Pyrenees 1
Description: One year more, the Vall de Siarb shelter will host a camp about territorial conservation. The group of participants will collaborate in the cleaning and reconstruction of the old rural roads of the valley, collaborating with the Museum of Paths Project that was created by the entity. Participants will be able to enjoy a unique natural environment in the valley of the High Pyrenees.
Type of Work: We will be working on restoring and improving old roads: cleaning and clearing paths, rebuilding dry stone walls, placing stones, and improving trail marks with paint or better signalling. We will spend the working hours, surrounded by forests and fields, there is also an orchard and garden. To be noted: the work is mostly manual and physical.
Study Theme: Getting to know the territory, construction techniques of dry stone walls,introduction to geocaching around the town and territory, irigation system, distribution and recognition of plants, local wildlife guides (flora and fauna) of Vall de Siarb, getting to know org. and associations that will share the problems of tourism and the impact of tourism in the territory.
Accommodation: You will sleep in common rooms with bunk beds, the room has safe drawers for you to store your stuff safely. You will also have access to two bathrooms and showers with warm water.
Language: English, Catalan, Spanish
Requirements: Specific knowledge on the subject is not necessary, but it is recommended to have an interest in the recovery of the heritage, nature and the discovery of new areas. Hiking lovers welcome!

Notes: IMPORTANT Additional Fee: In 2024 many SCI workcamps will have an additional fee of €50.00.
