Description: SAVWA Sustainable Permaculture Gardening Project is a community-led initiative aimed at encouraging young people to adopt low environmental impact living and eco-friendly practices. The work camp emphasizes the development and practice of self-sustaining environmental awareness to combat climate change and promote sustainable living. This project provides a unique opportunity to contribute positively to the environment while learning sustainable gardening practices.
Type of Work: Volunteers will receive hands-on training from skilled personnel within our organization and local community-based organizations. Key activities include: • Permaculture gardening training and implementation. • Voluntary work at the SAVWA community center, where various activities will be conducted. • Participation in workshops and practical sessions on eco-friendly practices. Volunteers should come with an open mind and enthusiasm, as a variety of activities are planned to keep participants engaged throughout the work camp.

Accommodation: What to Bring • Sleeping bag • Mosquito spray or lotion • Sandals and comfortable shoes • Warm clothes for chilly nights • Torch or flashlight • Arts and cultural items for group activities Accommodation Participants will stay in a house located at the activity venue in Soshanguve. The accommodation includes: • Simple bathroom with a shower and running water • Flushing toilets • Electricity Participants need to bring their own sleeping bags.
Language: The community is multicultural, with English as the primary language. Other local languages such as Ndebele and Zulu are also spoken.
Requirements: • Weekends are reserved for free tours, which participants can organize independently at their own expense. • Cultural nights are a highlight of the camp, where each volunteer can share their country's culture and traditions. • Open-mindedness and a positive attitude. • Willingness to interact with individuals from different cultural backgrounds. • Flexibility to live in simple conditions

Notes: Extra Information • Participation Fee: €260 o Covers accommodation, food, project expenses, administrative costs, a certificate of participation, and communication support. o Does not cover travel expenses to and from the camp or airport pickup.
