Description: TRIANEMI Kindergarten and Primary School belongs to a parents’ and teachers’ non-profit association aiming at the multifaceted and harmonious spiritual, moral and bodily development of the child. The school complex is situated in Maroussi, a suburb of Athens, around 17 km north of the capital’s Centre. The kindergarten and primary school apply the Waldorf pedagogical method which was first introduced by Rudolf Steiner at the beginning of the 20 th century. This method aims at supporting the child to become a free person who will take initiative to form its own life meaning. Steiner spoke of the multifaceted development of the child, which does not only focus on the mental area but also on the body, sentiment, social and spiritual one.
Type of Work: Volunteers will support the parents, teachers and older students to move the classroom material to the new building of the school.
Study Theme: The study part will focus on the Waldorf method taught in the school and there will be interaction with the schoolteachers.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in the teachers’ quarters in the new school building where there will be beds, showers and wc as well as a kitchen to cook their own meals. You may need to bring your own sleeping bag.
Language: Greek speakers are also welcome.
