SUMMER VIBES - Global energy for local activities

Description: The project is proposed by the Municipality of Cucciago, a small municipality in the province of Como, with the aim of promoting active participation, conscious citizenship and the strengthening of the educating community. The participating group will be involved in three initiatives: the summer centre for primary school children, part of the “Scuola Aperta” project, with recreational and educational activities; the “Madonna della neve” village festival, with cooking, music, games and shows, aimed at citizenship; and exchange moments with the local youth group “Scusciagatt” (16-25 years old), which organises activities for peers. The project enhances intercultural dialogue, peer and intergenerational ties, enriching the area's educational and community network.
Type of Work: Supporting the educational figures in the day-to-day running of the summer centre: fun-educational activities, thematic workshops (e.g. crafts, environment, art), weekly outings (e.g. swimming pool, guided tours). Village festival: support for logistical and operational activities (setting up and dismantling the kitchen, stage, festival areas) and during the evenings (table service, bar, kitchen). Intercultural exchanges with the youth group: co-planning and active participation in intercultural and peer exchanges through recreational and reflective activities. The daily activity is 6 hours, but during the village festival the commitment may increase to 8, given the community and festive character of the event, which requires active presence at times of greater participation.
Study Theme: The study part envisages an in-depth study of three main topics: the educating community, through experiential meetings to test inclusive approaches and methodologies, promoting protagonism and active citizenship; intercultural dialogue and youth participation, through activities shared with the Scusciagatt group to foster relational, intercultural and co-planning skills; knowledge of the municipal institution, with in-depth studies on the functioning of the local authority and participation in the organisation of events and public initiatives.
