Purpose of extra costs:
Cambodian Youth Action (CYA) is a not for profit and we haven't received any funding support from any funding agencies therefore, all participants are required to pay their participation fee. The participation fee is payable by cash upon arrival which is USD 220.00 that will cover; food, accommodation, and project materials and activities.
Description: Chea Smon School (CSS) is located 30 km away from Siem Reap town and not far from to Tonle Sap lake. Many children dropped off school every year for helping their parents or to work at tourist spot, Kampong Pluk. In CYA, we believe that only with education, children and teenagers grow up become a better person therefore, we are working with Chea Smon school in promoting education and make their first priority. Beside, hygiene and sanitation is also an issue for local children as well. Many children got scabies every year due their hygiene and sanitation problems.
Type of Work: Volunteers are going to teach English, music, arts, and sports to children, Organize public event to promote education, and organize workshop about hygiene and sanitation for primary school students.
Accommodation: Volunteer will stay together at a host family inside the village. Food will be prepared by host family and volunteers are required to serve, clean, and wash dishes by yourself.
Approximate Location: 30 km away from Siem Reap town and not far from to Tonle Sap lake
Organization Description: CYA is a youth development organization who works to promote global education among Cambodian children and youth, improving living standard of the community, and actively preserves environmental resources through engaging with international volunteers who come from all over the world. CYA organizes workcamps, which allow global volunteers are to live, work, learn, share as family who is compassionate in discussing and solving global issues.
