Description: The project is organized to gain experience of natural rural life through assistance to the environmental education project Forest School. The Forest School is a project of a training center established in a Russian northern village. Teachers of the Forest School strive to conduct a friendly environment, hold educational events for children, youth and adults, which study the laws of nature, the culture of the Russian village, traditional and innovative knowledge. Teachers of the Forest School are experts in their field recognized in Russia and abroad. The project is organized by Moscow based Center of recourse economy, which works for promoting recycling and other environmental topics in Russia. The camp will have around 100 Russian participants.
Type of Work: Setting up a permaculture garden. Cosmetic repair in the main building of the Forest School. Repair of roofs in guest houses of the Forest School. Assembling a log house for a banya. Haymaking. Taking care of the cattle. Cleaning an unauthorized landfill in the forest.
Accommodation: Accommodation in tents on the banks of the river and in guest houses of the Forest School. The food is organized: the cooks prepare food, and the participants are helping in the kitchen in turns.The menu in the camp is vegetarian.
Requirements: Interest in environmental topics. During the camp, alcohol and other intoxicants are forbidden.
Approximate Location: In the first half of the day, volunteers are helping the villagers, and in the second part - master classes, seminars, lectures, trainings dedicated to environmental and nature protection topics, healthy lifestyle, history and culture of the village. In the evening - sports activities, table games, yoga and dancing, music and theater evenings, games and quests.
