Celebrate 100 Years of Workcamps in Hlasnice
Description: The workcamp takes place in a small village of Hlasnice in the northern part of Moravia in cooperation with the local municipality. The village and its citizens try to revive public places for relaxing and leisure activities ( the community center with playground and sports equipment, where they organize various community events. The aim of this workcamp is to help with preparation and organization of a traditional event dedicated to the local integrated rescue system presentations (e.g. firemen, police and ambulance) in the first week and during the second week to help with organization of this years special event, celebrating the 100 years of workcamps, including presentation of volunteering idea in local schools and also to the local mayors of neighboring villages.
Type of Work: Work: You will help to get the community center area ready for a traditional cultural event dedicated to presentations of the local integrated rescue system units (e.g. firemen, police and ambulance), on Saturday, June 13th. The second week you will help to organize the special event Celebrating the 100 Years of Workcamps with presentation of volunteering and workcamps to invited local mayors from different villages and towns and also to a group of mayors from partner area in Poland. You will also help with presentations of volunteering opportunities to the students in local schools and in the Olomouc University. You will clean up the area afterwards, help with some maintenance tasks and help with cooking the international meals for invited guests at The International Evening Party. Depending on time available, you might also engage in presenting the hiking and cycling trails located north of the village. Bring working clothes, solid shs and some fun ideas for activities with students.Study part: Excursion to the historical town of Sternberk (4 km) ( a castle, a monastery, a unique exposition of time. There will be at least one meeting with the local community and invited guests ( The International Evening with presentations of various cuisines and countries. Please bring something traditional ingredients/spices from your country for preparation of your favorite national meals. It will be reimbursed by the organization.

Accommodation: In the community center. You will sleep on mattresses in 1I room with a carpet. Bring your own sleeping bag Several toilets and showers are available, in the community center and a building next door. There is a fully equipped kitchen in the center. You will cook your own meals as a group from food supplies provided by the local partner.
Requirements: This workcamp is perfect for everyone who wants to volunteer in the countryside, to take a part in organization of events, to meet and discuss with the young people/students. Volunteers interested in presenting the volunteering ideas and experienced in cooking the traditional meals of their country cuisine for an event are welcome. Allergies notice: pollen. No alcohol is allowed while working.
Approximate Location: Hlasnice (220 inhabitants) in the Olomouc region. It is located 20 km to the west from the region city of Olomouc, at the foot of Low Jeseniky Mountains. It is possible that for 2 or 3 days you will work in the surrounding town of Sternberk and Olomouc city (visiting schools and university).Leisure time: You can use sports equipment in the area of the community center (football, volleyball, tennis), do a barbecue party, go swimming, try horse-riding, visit the nearby historical towns of Sternberk and Olomouc, go hiking to the Jeseniky Mountains and to the Sovinec Castle, etc.
Notes: Please bring working clothes, solid shoes and some fun ideas for activities with students.
